Chapter 8

Ryat was in a pinch once again. How much trouble can even fit in a day? He wondered.

In front of him, on Ethernia's double bed, laid Prince and Robin, both unconscious. How did things even come to this...?

Some time earlier...

We have to help her, At! She just... fainted! Out of nowhere! I... I don't know what to do-

Ryat put his hand on Prince's shoulder, trying to sound reassuring.

Everything will be fine. Wasn't she a fairy? I heard those things are pretty much indestructible.

She's not a thing, At! And she needs help! Now!

Fiiine--- Let's just lay her down for now. We'll figure something out.

After some argueing about which bed to use, Prince laid her down in Ethernia's room. But just as they were figuring out what to do, the room started spinning with Prince. He didn't want to cause more trouble for his friend, so he kept it to himself. He probably shouldn't have, because the next time Ryat looked back, Prince's body slumped forward. Ryat caught him just before his head hit the bedframe. He got laid beside Robina. Ryat reasoned that - even though he hated the thought of putting them in the same bed - this way he could keep an eye on both of them at the same time.

Time passed slow, and At was losing hope. He couldn't just leave them behind, but he didn'r know how to help them. He tried looking into the medical books in the house. He had no idea how long he has been desperately flipping the pages when he heard a noise.

Robin slowly woke up and almost fell off the bed as the unconscious Prince came into her view. He was close. Waaaay too close. Next thing she saw was the baffled but slightly relieved Ryat.

What happened to him?

She asked, looking judgingly at At.

He fainted right after he brought you back! Anyway, what is wrong with you? What's with all this unconsciousness today?? Didn't you say you cured him? Why is he unconscious now? Why were YOU unconscious??? What tricks are you playing?!

No... I did cure him... he shouldn't... Ah- unless...! Take care of him, I need to check something!

Robin shouted back to Ryat after she poured some unknown liquid she summoned out of thin air into Prince's mouth and ran towards the front door.

Hey! Where are you going?!

When At caughed up to Robin, she was - once again - unconscious. But this time, there was a man holding her, not-so-gently. A hood covered his face but Ryat could catch a glimpse of his foreign features.

Who are you?

That's not important, now is it? What's important is, that I'm taking a problem off your shoulders. You dislike her, don't you? She's too much trouble to keep around. You want her gone, don't you? I'll help you.

It was but a moment of hesitation from At that the hooded figure needed to disappear into the woods.

Ryat stood there, once again, shocked. This was too much for him for a day.

At!

A shout came from the direction of the hut.

At, what happened? Are you alright? Where's Robin?

Ryat just stood there, the weight of what happened just sinking in.

There was a figure... He took Robina... And... I let him...

He mumbled, guilt filling his chest. He didn't dare face his friend.

Prince, recovering from his shock, addressed the situation calmly. He put his hand on his friend's shoulder.

It's okay. What's done is done, let's figure out how to proceed. We have to get her back.

His voice was authoritative, leaving no room for uncertanity.
