Chapter 5
You can put Prince here, you'll be sleeping there, and I'll be sleeping over there.
Robin decided on the rooms with the confidence of the owner.
Why are you deciding on where we'll be sleeping?? And why is your room next to his but mine is on the opposite side?!
If you have an issue, sleep outside
Robina shot a dangerous glare at Ryat, one he couldn't believe this joke of a person can make. But, trusting his survival instincts, he chose not to push it any further.
Robin dropped her bag down on the bed. It was really nostalgic. This used to be her room. She looked around, checking the drawings on the wall. They were from a long time ago. One of them had three people. Her, Ethernia, and... she made a mental note to visit her friend she hadn't seen in such a long time. She hoped he was doing well.
She gave Ethernia's room to Prince and the guest room to the complaining Ryat. She didn't want anyone sleeping in Ethernia's bed, but decided to make an exception for the patient.
Soon, nighttime arrived.
Ryat couldn't sleep. The guest bed was comfortable, that wasn't the issue. But his instincts didn't let him rest. He was worried about his friend. He was also suspicious of the girl they met. Who was she? And how come she new about the way to the late fairy's house? While Lady Ethernia was alive, she always brought visitors to her home with a spell, so no one knew the exact location or the way to get there. Since it was in the middle of the woods, it was difficult to find, but it was all too easy to get lost on the way.
Ryat was snapped out of his thoughts by the sound of a quiet rustle. If it was anyone else, they wouldn't have heard it even if they were paying attention. But Ryat was a talented swordsmaster with great instincts. And his instincts were telling him that something was going on. He concentrated on the sound. He heard a quiet rustle of clothes, then a door opening- WAIT. That was the door to Prince's room, wasn't it? Did he wake up? Or-?! What made the situation even more odd was that he heard no footsteps. Could it have been just the wind...?
He decided not to leave it up to chance and check on Prince. He quietly got up and left his room. The hall was quiet, there was no sound or movement. He went straight to Prince's room. As he swung the door open, his eyes widened. Robina was kneeling beside Prince's bed, casting a spell. Ryat recognised it, since he had seen Lady Ethernia using magic before. As soon as Robin heard the door open, she tensed up. As her eyes met Ryat's, her expression looked like someone's who was caught red-handed. She jumped up, canceling the spell. Before Ryat could've reacted, she jumped out the window to escape. As Ryat was about to follow after her to question what she had done to Prince, a hand grabbed his arm. It was his friend, slowly sitting up in bed, still a bit drowsy since he just regained consciousness.
What... happened?
